Wiley Roots Brewing Company started with a homebrew system in Kyle Carbaugh’s parents’ horse barn in Greeley, Colorado. While working full-time as an accountant in Denver, Kyle discovered a passion for brewing that quickly grew into something much bigger. Together, Kyle and Miranda Carbaugh made the decision to return to their Northern Colorado roots and build a brewery dedicated to exceptional beer, meaningful community, and creativity without limits.
Since opening our doors in the summer of 2013, Wiley Roots has become known for pushing the boundaries of traditional brewing. From innovative ingredient combinations to expertly crafted lagers, mixed-culture ales, barrel-aged beers, and spontaneous fermentations, we believe great beer should be memorable, approachable, and made with purpose.
While beer is at the heart of what we do, we’ve always believed a great brewery should be a place where everyone feels welcome. That’s why our tap list offers something for every kind of guest — from award-winning craft beers and crisp lagers to bold IPAs, decadent stouts, fruited sours, refreshing frozen drinks, high-proof seltzer cocktails, handcrafted mocktails, and non-alcoholic brews. Whether you’re a lifelong craft beer enthusiast or simply looking for a great drink to enjoy with friends, there’s something here for everyone.
As a proudly independent brewery in downtown Greeley, we’re committed to using high-quality ingredients, respecting the brewing process, and continually exploring what’s possible in a glass. We believe brewing is both a craft and an art — guided by honesty, integrity, hard work, and a passion for sharing great drinks and memorable experiences with our community.
That commitment has earned Wiley Roots national recognition, including medals at the Great American Beer Festival® (Gold in 2015 and 2017, Silver in 2018) and a Silver Medal at the Mazer Cup International.
More than a brewery, Wiley Roots is a place to gather. Whether you’re stopping in for a pint, enjoying a handcrafted cocktail or mocktail, attending one of our many community events, or simply spending time with friends and family, we’re proud to be part of the community that inspired us to come home. We can’t wait to welcome you.

Meet Midnight, Wiley Roots’ beloved Brew Cat and full-time brewery supervisor. She likes to think she runs the place, overseeing all chin scratches, treat distributions, and — most importantly — French fry deliveries. (If a fry is dropped anywhere in the taproom, she’ll somehow know.) Originally a barn cat when Wiley Roots was just a dream brewing in Kyle’s parents’ horse barn, Midnight made the move to the brewery and has been our furry mascot ever since. You might find her soaking up the warmth on top of the dishwasher, keeping a watchful eye over the order station, or making her rounds through the taproom to ensure everything is running smoothly.
If you stop by, don’t be surprised if Midnight greets you first. Just be sure to pay the mandatory cat tax with a few head scratches — and maybe a French fry if she’s lucky.
